I always enjoyed talking with my mentor, Jessenia, as she always had insightful takeaways that applied to both personal and professional life. She emphasized the importance of being willing to try new things, despite the fear of failure. Because of my mentor, I realized that my presence in professional and academic settings truly does matter as a Latina.

I got to build a network of amazing people who genuinely wanted to help me succeed. Their encouragement really helped me overcome the fear and hesitation I initially felt about the application process for internships. More than anything, though, they gave me the confidence to keep pushing myself, even when the process felt overwhelming. That belief in myself made all the difference.
