Our mentorship program typically runs for one academic year (September to May), but many mentorship relationships continue beyond this timeframe.

How are mentors and mentees matched?

We match students and mentors based on field of study, career goals, interests, and personal compatibility to ensure meaningful relationships.

Is there a cost to participate?

No, the Bloom mentorship program is completely free for students. Our program is funded through donations and partnerships.

What is the time commitment?

We recommend mentors and mentees meet for at least 1-2 hours per month, with additional communication as needed. The total time commitment is approximately 3-5 hours per month.

Can I participate if I'm not in a major city?

Yes! Our program is designed to accommodate virtual mentorship relationships, making it accessible to students regardless of location.

I always enjoyed talking with my mentor, Jessenia, as she always had insightful takeaways that applied to both personal and professional life. She emphasized the importance of being willing to try new things, despite the fear of failure. Because of my mentor, I realized that my presence in professional and academic settings truly does matter as a Latina.

I got to build a network of amazing people who genuinely wanted to help me succeed. Their encouragement really helped me overcome the fear and hesitation I initially felt about the application process for internships. More than anything, though, they gave me the confidence to keep pushing myself, even when the process felt overwhelming. That belief in myself made all the difference.
